St Asaph New City in Wales

Following the the announcement last Wednesday that St Asaph was successful in gaining city status as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The former town with only a tiny 3,400 population was one of three to win the honour, and we now understand that celebrations and events are being planned to mark this recognition which will inevitably bring people and interest to the new city.

It was such a surprise to everyone that even the Mayor Andrew Thomas stated that the council had only helped with the cost of printing the literature detailing why St Asaph should be awarded city status.

St Asaph may be small, but has rich offerings, which includes the historic side with the cathedral, as well as having cutting edge  modern technology. Furthermore, quite interesting things occurring at its business park, such as work on space programmes.
